Premium add-on, rolling out to selected schools
OurClassHub AI: step-by-step practice for students, support for teachers
An optional add-on for schools that choose it. Teachers assign practice sessions, review the questions and comments the AI drafts, and see early-support insights with the reasons shown. People stay in charge at every step.
Available to selected schools and rolling out to schools that opt in. Ask sales for access. Priced separately from the platform.

- TutorLet us compare 3/4 and 2/3. Step 1: which number can both 4 and 3 divide into?
- You12

Your teacher can read this conversation.
What the add-on does
Four features, each with a person in the loop.
Curriculum-grounded tutor
Students, in sessions a teacher assigns
Students practise inside a session their teacher set up. The tutor explains its reasoning step by step and gives hints before answers, using the course content and curriculum standards the teacher attached.
Practice questions, reviewed by teachers
Teachers
Ask for draft practice questions on a topic and year level. They arrive as drafts. You edit, approve or reject each one before any student sees it.
Teacher helper for reports
Teachers
Get a first draft of a report comment or a parent-friendly summary from the facts you already hold. You edit it and you approve it. Nothing is saved as final on its own.
Early-support insights
Teachers and school leaders only
A view of students who may need support, with the reasons in plain language and a note when there is too little data to say much. It is an insight to help you decide. It is never shown to students or parents.
See what it looks like
Sample screens with fictional data, to show the idea. Wording and layout may change as the add-on rolls out.

Sample student A, Term 2
Draft for you to editSample student A has grown in confidence with fractions this term and now explains their thinking clearly. A good next step is practising word problems that need more than one step.

May need support
Sample class 4A
Staff only: never shown to students or parents
- Sample student CWorth a conversation
- Attendance fell from 94% to 81% over two terms.
- Two recent maths assessments sit below their own earlier results.
- Three of the last five assignments were handed in late.
Data used: 3 terms. Enough to show.
SeenActedDismiss
- Sample student ENot enough data yet
Data used: 1 term. Too little to say anything, so no insight is shown.
A prompt to look closer, not a grade or a label. You decide what, if anything, to do.
Support insights, for staff only
Each insight lists its reasons in plain language and says how much data sits behind it. The teacher decides what, if anything, to do.
How OurClassHub AI fits together
The people, your OurClassHub, a gateway that looks after every request, and the model server that does the work.
What happens to a request
- Step 1: A teacher, student or leader uses a feature inside OurClassHub. Students can only use the tutor in a session a teacher assigned.
- Step 2: OurClassHub passes the request to the AI gateway.
- Step 3: The gateway is designed to remove names, filter what goes in and what comes out, limit how much each school can use, and log every request.
- Step 4: The request goes to an open-source model server at an address your school or host chooses. Support insights come from a separate prediction engine that lists the reasons behind each insight.
- Step 5: What comes back is a draft or an insight. A teacher or leader reviews it before anything is published, saved as final or acted on.
Built around guardrails
This is what the add-on is designed to do. Design reduces risk but does not remove it. AI can still be wrong, which is why teachers review what it produces.
Teacher-assigned only
Students are designed to use the tutor only inside a session a teacher assigned. There is no open chat.
Names removed before the model
The gateway is designed to remove student names and other identifying details before a request reaches the model.
Every request logged
Each request is designed to be logged for the school, without the text of the conversation, so use can be checked.
Reviewable by teachers
Teachers can read the tutor conversations in their review log. Drafts need a person to approve them.
Switch off any time
The add-on is off unless your school opts in. It is designed so a school can switch it off, or switch off a single feature.
You choose where the model runs
Point the add-on at a model server your school or host chooses, so you decide where requests go.
Filters and prompts reduce, but do not remove, wrong or unsuitable answers. That is why the tutor is limited to teacher-assigned sessions and why teachers can read every conversation.
Open and flexible
OurClassHub AI is built on open-source models, so your school is not tied to one provider.
Open-source models
The add-on runs on open-source models rather than a closed service.
Designed to avoid lock-in
It talks to the model server through a common, open interface, so the model behind it can change without changing how your school uses OurClassHub.
Point it at your own server
Give it the address of a compatible model server that you or your host runs. You choose where requests go.
Questions, answered
What data does it use?
Tutor sessions use the course content, curriculum standards and questions the teacher attaches to the session. The teacher helper uses facts such as assessment results that your school already holds in OurClassHub. Support insights use attendance, assessment results and handed-in work. Names are designed to be removed before a request reaches the model, and insights are designed not to use sensitive details such as health, ethnicity or family information.
Does it replace teachers?
No. Teachers assign the sessions, read the conversations, edit and approve the drafts, and decide what to do about an insight. It is there to save preparation time and give students extra practice.
Can students chat freely?
No. Students can use the tutor only inside a session a teacher assigned, on the topic the teacher chose. There is no open chat.
Who sees the support insights?
Teachers and school leaders only. They are designed never to appear to students or parents, in the parent portal, or in reports. They are a prompt to look closer, never an automated decision and never a label on a child.
Can the AI be wrong?
Yes. Any AI model can make mistakes. That is why drafts need a teacher to approve them, why teachers can read tutor conversations, and why insights show their reasons and how much data sit behind them.
Can we turn it off?
Yes. It is an opt-in add-on, off until your school chooses it. It is designed so a school can switch the add-on off, or switch off individual features, at any time.
Where does the model run?
Your choice. The add-on is pointed at the address of a compatible model server that your school or host chooses. Ask sales to talk through the options for your school.
Is it available now?
It is a premium add-on rolling out to selected schools that opt in. Ask sales whether your school can join.
How much does it cost?
It is priced separately from the platform. Ask sales for details.
Curious whether it suits your school?
Tell our sales team a little about your school and what you would like to try. There is no obligation, and your school can stay on the platform without the add-on.
