Our 2027 roadmap

New Zealand: our 2027 roadmap

OurClassHub is not available to New Zealand schools yet. We plan to open to New Zealand primary schools in 2027. Until then, India and the UAE are our focus. If you are a New Zealand school, talk to our sales team.

What we are focused on for 2027

These are things we plan to support for New Zealand primary schools. They are planned, not built for New Zealand, and no dates are promised beyond 2027.

  • Years 1 to 8 on the same platform.

  • A plain-language progress scale with curriculum levels or phases, so whānau can see how a child is going.

  • The Ministry attendance code set, built in and not editable.

  • National Student Number (NSN), ethnicity and iwi fields, kept as restricted fields visible only to school administrators and managers.

  • A draft roll-return and attendance export. DRAFT, not certified.

  • A te reo Māori interface.

Pricing will be announced later. Talk to our sales team.

Notes from the education authorities

These notes summarise what official bodies publish, in our own words and as we read them. They show what we plan to support. They are not legal advice and not a statement that we comply with anything.

  • The New Zealand Curriculum refresh (Ministry of Education)

The Ministry says curriculum levels and achievement objectives are being replaced by five phases of learning, each with progress outcomes.

What we plan to support: progress reporting that can follow phases as well as levels. We will follow the Ministry’s published timing.

  • National Student Numbers (Ministry of Education)

Each learner gets one unique National Student Number, issued by the Ministry and used through early learning, school and tertiary education. Use of NSNs is restricted by law.

What we plan to support: recording the NSN as a restricted student field.

  • School and kura roll returns (Ministry of Education)

Schools send roll return data to the Ministry in March and July, and also in June and September for some year levels. Schools with a student management system can send the electronic file from it. ENROL is the register of student enrolments.

What we plan to support: a draft roll-return and attendance export. Check any file with your school before you submit it.

  • Privacy Act 2020 (Office of the Privacy Commissioner)

The Privacy Commissioner explains the 13 information privacy principles, which set how organisations collect, store, use and share personal information.

What we plan to support: restricted student data handling. How the Act applies to each school is for the school and its own advisers to confirm.
